buddy name color in conversation hardcoded?

This is coming from very old gaim days.

Apparently buddy names in conversation window, that is my own name and my conversation partner's name are hardcoded (i'm blue, my partner is red).

I've been told so by someone in the old gaim team and it seems pidgin is continuing this legacy.

GTK+ theme control plugin has no effect here (and it only has the ability to change font face, not color).

Prefs window, conversation tab has nothing regarding this. Also, assuming a different GTK theme, let's say one with a darker background will create serious readability problems.
