Second bolded block of text in IRC is not rendered

Description

The following text in IRC 

\x2\x34/!\\xF ilyanep music adventures \x2\x34/!\ no that's totally bolded

results in the first '/!\' being bolded (and red) while the block of '/!\ no that's totally bolded' displays in red, but is not bold. Screenshot will be attached.
