Unable to maintain conversations with invisible users

Description

After an invisible MSN contact has messaged you, you are able to reply. However, if the conversation sits idle without a response for some small amount of time any further attempts to message the other person result in an error that the contact is offline or unavailable, until they send you another message.

I saw in Ticket #939 here the following comment already:

"The server or remote end closes the connection after an idle timeout. Messaging with invisible users is not supported."

Is this a case of "It's simply not possible to support" or "We don't support it yet.".

I ask because surely the Microsoft client does not suffer this issue when communicating with invisible users?

I've also only noticed the problem recently, but I can not confirm that is not simply coincidence.

For the record I am an AdiumX user, which makes use of libpurple/libgaim.

Is there anything I can do to help troubleshoot/investigate this? Happy to use a debug version of Pidgin, AdiumX, etc.

I think messages to invisible users are handeled as offline messages? In that case, I hope we'll see MSP14 in trunk soon ;)
