buddy info shouldn't reopen when closing it during info-retrieving

On GTalk geting the info for a buddy takes a little while, which i imagine is the server, but closing the window while its retrieving i think should cancel it instead of it continuing to work in the background and then popping back up later once it gets the info.

I classified this as good talk but im not sure if its any XMPP This is on Windows XP SP2

It also happens when retrieving MSN buddy info, so this is not XMPP-specific.

This still happens (irrespective of protocol) on 2.5.8. Is there anything that can be done?
