Shift-JIS does not display correctly

when receiving messages containing japanese text sent from Trillian, pidgin does not properly display the text, this is because the text itself is encoded in Shift-JIS. I'm Attaching the relevant HTML Segment of one such message.

oh, i'm sorry, i forgot to mention that. this is on AIM.

Is this still an issue in 2.5.8? What do you get when Japanese text is sent from the official AIM client?
