Windows - ICQ: Copy html from email into chat, <font> tags keep showing on every message after this

Description

If you copy and paste some text from a HTML email into the chat window when using the ICQ plugin (2.0.0 Beta 6 Windows), every subsequent message looks like <font size="3">Wow</font> at the other end.

Closing and reopening the chat session with that participant clears this up.

what is the other client?

Changed 3 years ago by HiltonT

The other client in Trillian. Without the copy/paste of html it works fine. After it, the other client looks borked. When I close and re-open this end, it is good, so it is what I'm sending that looks wrong - I should not be sending HTML from Pidgin at all.

Are both sides of the conversation signed in with an ICQ screen name? Or is one of them AIM?

Changed 3 years ago by HiltonT

Both sides have ICQ names signed in

I have also seen this happen, with the other side using miranda (i think) and both using icq.

  • version changed from 2.0 to 2.4.2
  • component changed from pidgin (gtk) to ICQ

this is still an issue :/

in icq 6 this still happens when you paste a conversation to a pidgin user. then in pidgin you'll receive a lot od <div>-tags.
