Can't open Jabber chat when auto-join is selected

I find that Pidgin 2.2.2 has the problem that if I mark a Jabber chat room as auto-join, then the auto-hide feature prevents the display of that chat room when I start Pidgin. When I double-click on the chat room Pidgin refuses to open it.

Once someone posts something to the chat room, it will pop up in front of me and then I can make my new post. Otherwise, I have to turn off auto-join, quit Pidgin, and restart.

At the least, double clicking on a hidden chat room should unhide it.

In addition for double bonus points, it would be great to be able to decide whether the chat starts as hidden or opens when Pidgin starts, either on a chat-by-chat basis or a global option.

I'm using 2.2.2 on Windoze.

Yes, this is a duplicate of #2890 except for the request for an option about starting as hidden or not. I'll create a separate item for that.
