chatroom disconnects without any indication

connected to bmxspotterchat through muc.assiss.com, using pidgin 2.2.2 as downloaded with no plug-ins. Intermittently, when Windows XP Prof SP2 focuses on other programs, the chatroom simply freezes, looks like no activity, but it is really disconnected, and the only way I can check if it is connected or not is to send test message, which it will not do if disconnected. Protocol XMPP. Any help?

Is the title of the chatroom enclosed in parenthesis when it gets disconnected?

If you capture the debug output from Pidgin when this happens, we can look and see what the reason for the disconnect is.
