Weird "Half-Freeze"

Description (last modified by rlaager) (diff)

With IRC chat rooms, I'm seeing a weird "half-freeze" (Sean's words; he's seen it a couple of times as well). If I don't do anything to the window to invalidate it, I'll see updates, but none of the widgets refresh. Sean said it's like it's not getting any X events. There's not really a backtrace per se, as it's always in poll() like you'd expect.

I think it might be made worse by signing on to multiple accounts at once. It generally happens a few seconds after the channels have been auto-joined, but I've seen it a couple times even after I'd been signed in for a long time. (At least once I was switching tabs, but I don't remember one way or another for the other times.)

I see this sporadically also. Typically if I restart pidgin, it won't happen the second time. It does not seem to happen in finch.

I haven't seen this in forever. If it happens again, I guess we'll go from there.
