I like to request XEP-0116 for Pidgin as an alternative to #288 and OTR.
Gajim will support it in v0.12 and won't support OTR because it hasn't a XEP.

This isn't likely to be implemented. It's much more likely that we'll implement XTLS (end-to-end TLS using Jingle)
