IM Font Size Discrepancies

Description

In the windows version of pidgin:

I was having a conversation with someone when I accidentally increased the size of my font significantly. To revert my font to my original font, I copied and pasted the text from some of my older, normal-sized IMs into my message box. Now when I started typing, the font was normal sized again. When I sent the IMs, they were normal sized in my window. However, the person on the other end insisted that I was still sending IMs in a large font size. I wound up fixing this by closing the conversation window and then opening it again.

hitting control-r should work in place of closing the conversation. Still, I'm not sure why the paste trick did not work. What sort of system is this? what gtk theme?

This is Windows XP Home SP2 running on a Pentium 4 Dell Dimension 4600. I'm using the default MS-Windows theme.

What's strange is that the paste trick worked on changing the font as it appeared to me, but not as it appeared to the person who i was talking to, who was using AIM 6.0 or 6.1 (I'm not sure which). I couldn't recreate this error in a conversation with my own screename. Perhaps it is a compatibility issue or an error on AIM's end?

I'm unable to recreate this issue with AIM 6.0.

Can this be reproduced? If not, maybe the ticket should be closed...
