Support Yahoo PingBox

Reported by: ciuly Owned by: sulabh.dev
Milestone: 2.6.6 Component: Yahoo!/Yahoo! JAPAN
Version: 2.5.2 Keywords: pingbox
Cc: DrLaunch

Description

I just stumbled across this new feature and in my opinion it's a pretty cool feature to have. For me at least. From my tests, users can send messages from the pingbox to pidgin, but pidgin does not send to pingbox. Thing is, pingbox creates some guests, with no profile and who knows what other temporary things, which might make pidgin not send or improperly send the message to it.

Thanks

I also came across this feature today. And I would also like this feature to be added, so I can provide anonymous support.

Please support this. Pingbox is the only IM account chat that works in my blog.

This pingbox now supports integration with Myspace, Blogger, Hi5, LiveJournal? etc. So may be now this needs real consideration.

Thanks in advance.

Debug log between pingbox and pidgin

Changed 11 months ago by dexteruk

After trying Pingbox I discovered this issue. From what I can see that maybe there is some naming convention miss-match. On Pidgin the user appears as a number in this case 13, however on the yahoo web messenger the user appears as Guest13 so maybe this could be a issue. Hope this helps.
