History Sessions

I would like a feature that has been long in aim and was even hoping that pidgin would incorporate saved history sessions temporarily until logout. This feature is useful because I personally don't want my chat or messages logged on my computer and I have it disabled but, I want to be able to see my previous messages even after I closed the IM box with the person.

As long as I don't log out, the history should be there even if the IM box was closed with the person and on logout, the history is deleted like on aim and still not logged. I wonder if its possible to expand this feature to all protocols and not just aim if this feature is incorporated?

tools/preferences/conversations uncheck "close IMs immediately when the tab is closed"
