annoying sound using backspace key

Description
Hello, I'm running Pidgin 2.5.4 with Gtk+ Theme Selector 0.1.1 on WIN XP Prof in muted modus (both Tools>Mute-Modus and Tools>Options set on mute).
But there is still a sound, when I use backspace accidentally although there are no letters in the conversation window. Maybe it's because there is nothing to delete..but it's still pretty annoying because all the sounds are muted.
I have already deinstalled Gtk+, but the annoying sound is still there, while all the other sounds are muted.
Don't know what to do else..
