Aim fails to login: connection expired

Description

I've been unable to login to AIM for quite some time now. I've just updated my version of Pidgin in hope that this would fix my problem. The message I get is "Unable to connect to the authentication server: Connection Expired". Strangely enough I was able to login once (when I was at my parents).

First I had the 2.5.7 version, now I have the latest version 2.6.2.

Can you try editing your account settings and checking the "Use clientLogin" box on the Advanced tab?

I did that and I can login again. Thank you for the help and the quick reply.

Thanks, I'm glad that works for you. I'm going to consider this closed, I guess. It's probably not worth us trying to figure out what's wrong with the other login method--it's probably not a problem on our side.
