#10458 new defect

IRC topic query -no date info returned

Reported by: damianocon Owned by: elb
Milestone: Component: IRC
Version: 2.6.2 Keywords: topic time date
Cc: xerces8

Description

the IRC '/topic' command used to return the topic and the date the topic was set. Now there is no date (nor time) information returned, just the topic itself. I gather the server is still supplying the date/time information, but that it is lost somehow

When joining an IRC channel, there are usually this two lines printed by most IRC clients:

  • Topic for #foo is: The topic text
  • Topic for #foo set by nickuser@host.example.com at Tue Jun 22 10:28:48 2010

The date information is missing in Pidgin 2.7.1. (the info is sent by the server when using another IRC client)

Also entering the command /TOPIC prints the topic text, but not the date and setter.

Using WinXP Pro SP3.
