Can not connet to yahoo account

Description

I am using pidgin version 2.6.6-2.el5.4 It is running on RHEL 5 - 32 bit

I was on version 2.5.x and it was running fine. Of late I started noticing that change of status was not propagating to yahoo friends. So decided to upgrade and now I can not connect.

I use environment proxy

pager server is scsa.msg.yahoo.com pager port 5050

file transfer server is filetransfer.msg.yahoo.com file transfer port is 80

I've updated pidgin to

Pidgin 2.7.0 (libpurple 2.7.0) 32fe1057ca848b424a0de8df380081e61a62db3b

and I'm no longer able to connect to the yahoo account I was previously usin without problem.

Could you please tell me what to do?

As server i was using:

filetransfer.msg.yahoo.com

I've tried also with:

scsa.msg.yahoo.com

both with port 5050, both not working.

Since upgrading to 2.7.0, I cannot connect to Yahoo anymore either.

I'm using Ubuntu 8.40 I've gdb installe, but here:

is said :

Before you follow these instructions, please make sure you have the debugging symbols for pidgin, libpurple, and finch installed (see the above instructions)

how can I be sure to have symbols installed?
