I keep getting an error message when I try to install Pidgin 2.7.0 "Error launching installer" - MSXP window running SP3 Pro.

As Phagos' link indicates, you probably have downloaded an incomplete or corrupted installer and need to download it again.

I don't think that the installer is corrupt, as I have downloaded it now six times.. also I thought about the firewall, so I removed it.. It has not made any difference. I would like to install pidgin as I have used it in the past back when it first was released. Any ideas on how to accomplish this install would be greatfully received. Thank you, Evo

The only time we've ever seen this type of error is due to a broken download.

Download it from a different mirror to make sure it is actually being downloaded and you're not getting the cached copy that your browser downloaded previously.

Check CRC of the installer you've downloaded
