Description

Hi,

after a long dialog, smiley "dispears". In the beginning, ":p" or ":D" are replaced by the "image smiley". But after many "lines", they are not replaced ! Those who have been replaced don't change. They stay to image.

Sorry for my English.

I have always had the same problem with every version of Pidgin. After talking in a window fr a while the smilies don't appear just the triggers for them i.e. instead a a smiley face all you get is ":)".

I have to close the window & open it again for the smilies for show again.

This is done intentionally. Pidgin does not allow more than 30 smileys in a single message, and more than 300 smileys during an entire conversation. Showing too many smileys in a single conversation can be costly (CPU-cycle wise), which is why this is done.

So, not really a bug!

I know this is a very old post, but it's the only mention of this that I could find. Is there a setting to change the limit of smilies in a conversation? It is very aggravating having to close and open a new window every so often when my computer can clearly handle it.
