#12984 new enhancement

Better control over the Right-to-Left alignment

Reported by: yellowblood Owned by: EionRobb

Version: 2.7.7 Keywords: hebrew right-to-left

Hello, This might look like a very minor issue but as a Hebrew speaker, this "defect" is one of the biggest minus in Pidgin for me.

Since CTRL+SHIFT (the alignment short-keys in windows) do not work in Pidgin, it aligns the messages depending on the first letter in the message. This is an accepted solution I guess, but it leads to a bad behavior when a smiley (with Latin letters) or numbers are sent - the message will be aligned Left-to-Right as opposed for the rest of the conversation.

Please let us the users decide the alignment through settings or with some kind of button in the chat windows. Another option is to make CTRL+SHIFT work, so if one press CTRL+RIGHT-SHIFT then the rest of his messages will be sent aligned to the right, until he closes the window or press CTRL+LEFT-SHIFT regardless of the languages he uses.

Thanks in advance.
