Description (last modified by atc)

The awesome mascot that's in the Pidgin logo is very well designed. So-much so, that I instinctively questioned its name. I mean, something that awesome *must* have a name.

So I ventured into the IRC chatroom on to find out.

21:38 < atc-> hi

21:38 < atc-> Strange but quick question: is there a name for the Pigeon on the Pidgin Icon/website i.e. is it a mascot and does it have a name?

21:38 < elb> it is a mascot, it has no name

21:39 < atc-> ok

21:39 < atc-> thanks

21:39 < atc-> Can it be called Piginski?

21:40 < atc-> *Pidginski

21:42 < elb> probably not

21:42 < atc-> That's a shame. I think it's a good name.

21:43 < atc-> Oh well. I'll leave it with you. Perhaps it'll warm on you as you sleep all tucked up nice and warm under your snuggly duvet.

21:43 < atc-> Thanks for the help. Good night/day.

21:43 < atc-> xx

It has no *name*? How unfair is that?

Look at him.

Look him in the eyes.

Those, sweet, endearing pupils.

Tell me he doesn't need a name. Tell me he's not worth that. Think of the effort that went into creating him/her. How can he not be given the dignity of a name?

For the love of God, fix this bug.

Call that delightful mascot "Pidginski".

You've no doubt heard of the one-eyed, one-horned, flying, purple people eater. Further lyrical examination of the lyrics of this piece of musical art clearly identifies this beasties name as 'Mr Purple People Eater'. Clearly, without proper biological examination we cannot determine the gender of the Pidgin mascot, however it's name is most certainly, if anything, 'The Purple Pidgin'.
