Pidgin v 2.10.6 crashes when joining any irc channel

Reported by: bluefigtoast Owned by: rekkanoryo
Milestone: Component: unclassified
Version: 2.10.6 Keywords:

I am using debian squeeze (64 bit)

This is how I built pidgin

sudo apt-get install intltool sudo apt-get install gtktool

./configure --disable-screensaver --disable-gtkspell --disable-vv --disable-meanwhile --disable-avahi --disable-nm --disable-perl --disable-tcl

sudo make install

when I do a /j #debian for example (or ANY irc channel on ANY network) it crashes, and I get the following:
