Description

Hello,

Using pidgin 2.10.7 against openfire 3.8.0 via bosh, we have the problems with the ping not replied to and the connection which disconnects every minutes.

Attached is the debug log of an example.

  • Resolution set to invalid
  • Status changed from new to closed

This is a Openfire bug - it's not OK for the server to not send a response of some sort to the ping (see http://xmpp.org/extensions/xep-0199.html#c2s).

Hi,

Would it be possible to re open this issue. Openfire answers the ping requests and the blank requests as well. But for some reasons I did not find, Pidgin will not handle certain ping replies.

Look inside the debug log (purple-debug.log.gz) at time between 13:58 and 14:01. The reply of ping from 13:59:33 is being replied to at 13:59:54 but for some reason, it is not interpreted inside pidgin.

I also have a wireshark packet sniffing logging file if you need. I can see the ping reply in it at 13:59:54.

Could you take a look at this issue please ?
