#1569 new defect

Menu behaviour for chat toolbar buttons

Reported by: lithium Owned by: seanegan
Milestone: Component: pidgin (gtk)
Version: 2.0.1 Keywords:

Description

Now that the buttons in the chat toolbar open submenus, it would be nice to have them behave more like menus, e.g. the menu should open on mouse-click, not on mouse-release. This way, one could press Insert->Smiley just by clicking once, dragging down and releasing the mouse button, instead of clicking, releasing, moving down and clicking again...

This is half-way implemented in 2.1.1... its nice that the dropdown opens on click and not on release now.

Still, having the dropdown open and then (after the dropdown is shown) setting the button to "Pressed" looks strange. Also, being able to drag from the font to the insert menu like a menu would still be nice.
