#264 new enhancement
More right click options for nickname lists on channels on IRC
Reported by: | gw | Owned by: | elb |

Milestone: | Component: | pidgin (gtk)
Version: | 2.0 | Keywords:

Description
There are a couple of basic features lacking in the right click menu on channel nickname lists (at least on IRC). So it would be natural to allow simple right click kicking, banning while in an IRC channel and then later on, implement easy channel mode changes through a right click interface as well.
Basic commands for the right click could be ordered in groups:
- op, deop, voice, devoice
- kick, ban, kickban, timered ban?
- ctcp: ping, version, finger, time
- ...
And the ability to select multiple nicks should also be present. This way you could for example op multiple people at once.
(gaim2.0.0beta6, WinXP Pro SP2) (This is a modified resubmit of a still valid request (originally on SourceForge?: Feature Requests item #983531 by Oliyen (oliyen)).)

I would also like this fixed. I feel this may be more than a "minor" issue too.

This would also be very welcome for XMPP multi-user-chat

/ctcp <nick> time would be great. +1 from me too.

This ticket is not about a CTCP command. If you want a particular CTCP command, file a ticket for that.

#6265 duplicates part of this ticket (but it is about Jabber/XMPP).
This issue is a defect on Jabber because Pidgin's / commands are unable to ban or kick Jabber users who have spaces in their nicknames.

+1 from me.
I would also like to request (was going to file a separate ticket), that when I change my nick in IRC, to have the nick in the "XX people in romm" list updated to show my current nick, just like it does when others change theirs.
I find it very common to change my nick based on where I'm connecting from etc.
steve@home, steve@work
But if I can't see what my nick is currently, it is easy to not realize that it is out of sync with my current status.

This is indeed a different issue (and should be a different ticket), and not a bug at all. You have an alias set for your IRC account, and Pidgin displays the alias in preference to your nick. If you clear the alias field in the account modify dialog, your nick will change normally in the user list.

Could you make it so if they are using Jabber, they could just right click the name?
BTW: I requested this, too. +1
