#4760 new enhancement

Remember ignores for IRC

Reported by: ftmichael Owned by: elb
Milestone: Component: IRC
Version: 2.3.1 Keywords: ignore feature auto auto-ignore
Cc: axel1973, jrouquie

Description

I chat in a number of IRC channels and have a handful of people whom I prefer to keep permanently on /ignore. Every few days I need to restart Pidgin because it starts to get slow, and when I restart it - or if I leave and return to a channel for any reason - I have to scroll through the list of names and re-ignore the people in question. I would love to see an auto-ignore feature like other IRC clients have; it would save me a bit of time and a lot of stress.

Thanks for your consideration.

This is still a bug 2.10.3. And I would call it bug not enhancement…

Problem still exists in 2.10.7.

This is indeed an odd feature not to have.

Pidgin 2.10.9 (libpurple 2.10.9) it seems still not to be implemented. an /ignore *!userid@* returns an error message "unknown command"

COME ON! Really ??!

This is fixed: use the “ignore” plugin from the “pidgin plugin pack” (debian package pidgin-plugin-pack).
