#5522 closed defect (worksforme)

Unable to alt+tab buddy list when docked.

Reported by: jaguar11735 Owned by: datallah
Milestone: Component: winpidgin (gtk)
Version: 2.4.1 Keywords:

I am unable to alt+tab to the buddy list when it is docked. The buddy list window just does not show up on the list of windows when pressing alt+tab. This makes it impossible to use the buddy list with only a keyboard when it is docked.

Is this still happening in Pidgin 2.5.8?

Yes, this is still happening in Pidgin 2.5.8.

An additional note: In Windows Vista (64-bit Ultimate), Alt-Tabbing to the desktop will cause the docked buddy list to disappear, and must be brought back by alt-tabbing to another window or closing and reopening the buddy list via the tray icon.

I believe that this is how AppBars? work on Windows. Unless I'm mistaken, this isn't something we have control over.

Have you seen any other docked applications that appear in the Alt+Tab list?

I haven't used any other docked applications in Windows so I don't know if this is a Pidgin problem or a Windows problem. I haven't really been using Pidgin docked much lately either, so it's not a big deal if this isn't fixable.
