Looking at user info on the new ircd results in 3 lines in the debug window:

(16:14:04) irc: Unrecognized message: :simmons.freenode.net 671 ivazquez ivazquez :is using a secure connection
(16:14:05) irc: Unrecognized message: :simmons.freenode.net 378 ivazquez ivazquez :is connecting from *@hostname.tld xx.xx.xx.xx
(16:14:05) irc: Unrecognized message: :simmons.freenode.net 330 ivazquez ivazquez ivazquez :is logged in as

The first is only shown if connecting via SSL. The second is only shown if looking at your own user info. The third is shown if the user is identified to services.

Is this ticket suggesting Pidgin needs updates to the IRC protocol code to handle a change already made or upcoming?

comment:2 Changed 9 years ago by kwadronaut

The change is already made on the freenode network.

The numeric response codes are 330, 378 and 671. Info missing in the original report: 378 is also shown when doing a whois on a user who isn't connected with SSL.
